With our glass tabletop adaptor, we make it simple to construct magnificent glass tabletops! With a 48″ diameter glass tabletop, our stainless steel base is shown at dining height. A black square or star-shaped component is usually found at the top of our table bases. The mounting plate (often referred to as a “spider” due to the curvature of the limbs) features screw holes for attaching wood or other porous table surfaces. Because you cannot attach your glass tabletop with screws, you replace it with a glass top adapter instead of a spider. To secure the adaptor, you must first glue it to the underside of your glass tabletop. It is then bolted to the base.  The epoxy we recommend for the project (NOT included with adapter). This is a two-part epoxy that is optically clear when dry. When you look through your tabletop after everything is set and installed, all you should see is beautiful stainless steel. We strongly advise you to have the glass top adapter installed by a glass technician or contractor. Although the procedure appears straightforward, preparing the epoxy, cleaning the glass, and aligning the adaptor can be more difficult than they appear.
